Schedules tasks are an ideal way of batching heavy operations, ie on databases, thus preserving server performance. freeASPhost.co.uk extensively uses scheduled tasks, mainly written in Perl for many administration tasks, including user registrations, log processing, backup and virus scans. (Current count is 16)

We are happy for our users to request scheduled tasks, however for security reasons the source code for any compiled submittals must be attached, so it can be checked before being implemented
