We use Perl scripts in CGI-bin directories extensively throughout freeASPhost.co.uk. They offer great power and allow easy portability from *nix. For more adventurous developer, they offer greater challenge.

However, for security reasons, we require all scripts to be checked before going live. This also ensures that scripts are not adversly affecting server performance.
